Socioprofessional categories

The socio-professional categories correspond to a nomenclature established by INSEE. This nomenclature classifies the population according to a summary of profession, hierarchical position and status (employed or not). The classification into three groups is usually used in marketing studies:

  • CSP+: farmers operators, artisans, artisans, traders and business leaders, managers and higher intellectual professions, intermediate professions
  • CSP-: employees, workers
  • Inactive: retirees, other people without a professional activity
